SaskTel introduces the Wireless Device Protection Plan

November 9, 2010

SaskTel today introduced the Wireless Device Protection Plan, an optional insurance and extended warranty plan for customers who want to protect themselves in case their SaskTel wireless device is lost, stolen, damaged or it malfunctions. The cost is either $6 or $7 per month depending upon the value of the device. The plan can be purchased any time within 12 months after buying a wireless device from a SaskTel Store or SaskTel Authorized Dealer.

"SaskTel is pleased to offer our wireless customers this comprehensive plan that provides both insurance and extended warranty coverage for SaskTel devices," said Ron Styles, SaskTel President and CEO. "This plan is affordable and offers customers protection from the high cost of replacing lost, stolen, damaged or malfunctioning wireless devices."

Coverage under the Wireless Device Protection Program is administered by eSecuritel which handles all claims and claim disputes. If a claim is approved the customer can go to any SaskTel Store or SaskTel Authorized Dealer for a replacement device. The replacement would be the same model or a comparable replacement if the same model is unavailable. Deductibles range from $75 to $225 depending upon the value, make and model of the device.
