Among the greatest contributions SaskTel can make to Saskatchewan communities is ensuring that our business practices are eco-friendly, and leave the smallest possible environmental footprint in the communities and areas in which we operate.

SaskTel’s mix of products and services can also help customers meet their own environmental goals while providing ways to increase efficiency. For example, wireless services allow customers to work from wherever they are. Videoconferencing and teleconferencing can reduce the need to travel, saving time and money, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Internet service offers a world of information about environmental sustainability, and access to the ultimate network of people working together to make a difference.

SaskTel’s own approach to environmental sustainability has three focus areas:

  1. Managing our environmental impact.
    • SaskTel’s Environmental Management System aligns with ISO 14001 standards. The system allows every SaskTel business unit and subsidiary to constantly evaluate its environmental impact and assess any possible risks.
  2. Innovation.
    • Every employee is encouraged to consider the environment in every decision they make, whether it involves building a tower, planning a meeting or printing a document.

  3. Influence.
    • SaskTel works with suppliers, contractors, dealers and other partners to encourage good environmental practices. We also try to lead by example so other companies and even our customers can look to SaskTel as a model of sustainability.
