Business Analyst
At SaskTel, Business Analysts analyze business needs for computer applications and systems, then design and direct the development, installation, enhancement and support of complex computer systems. Responsibilities also include directing programming staff and administrating the IT resources allocated to various projects. These positions are primarily located in Regina at our Head Office location.
Requirements:
Qualifying for a Business Analyst position requires a combination of education and experience.
The experience level specified must be current and show contiguous experience in developing and /or supporting applications software in a professional IT development environment. Qualifications accepted include a recognized University Degree majoring in Computer Science with a minimum of three years experience OR a recognized Technical Institute Diploma in Information Technology or a recognized University Degree in Administration, Commerce or Science/Engineering or Information Systems Professional (ISP) designation, with a minimum of four years experience OR five years experience. Business Analysts must also possess experience in problem analysis/solving, the ability to develop and/or support software,plus good verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to deal effectively with others and to lead and direct.
Technical Analyst
SaskTel’s Technical Analysts are responsible for all aspects of the professional computing environment from product recommendations through to coordination, implementation, and development of standards and provisioning advanced technical support. These individuals may provide direction, coordinate workloads, schedule and prioritize activities for subgroups and/or project team.
Requirements:
Qualifying for a Technical Analyst position requires a combination of education and experience.

Qualifications accepted include a University degree in Computer Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Information Engineering or Electrical Engineering specializing in electronics or communications with 2 years experience OR a Technical Institute diploma in Data Processing or Computer Technology or Electronic Engineering Technology with 3 years experience OR a University degree in one of the following disciplines with a minor in Computer Science: Administration, Commerce, Science/Engineering or Mathematics with 3 years experience OR a Certified Professional Designation (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Information Systems Professional (ISP) or Cisco Certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), etc. with 4 years experience OR 5 years experience. Technical Analysts must have experience with analysis and design, the demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Programmer Analyst
SaskTel’s Programmer Analysts design, code, test, document, implement and support complex computer programs in order to meet the requirements of SaskTel’s clients and the corporation. They also assist in the analysis and design of computer based systems. These positions are primarily located at our Head Office in Regina.
Requirements:
SaskTel typically recruits individuals who possess either a recognized University Degree majoring in Computer Science from a CIPS accredited institution, a recognized Computer Science Diploma in information systems/data processing/computer technology from a CIPS accredited institution, a University Degree in Software Engineering or individuals with two years current experience in developing and/or supporting application software in a professional development environment. Consideration is also given to individuals who have successfully completed ICCP’s core exam and one of their relevant language exams at the Certified Computing Professional (CCP) level. All successful applicants must have working knowledge of computer science and programming concepts, excellent problem analysis and problem solving ability, good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to deal effectively with others and the ability to plan and organize in self directed and team environments.
